Treated Bulk Salt is a high-performance de-icing material enhanced with additives to improve its effectiveness in winter maintenance applications used for winter road maintenance. Unlike standard rock salt, treated bulk salt is coated with liquid treatments containing a proprietary blend of magnesium chloride and feed grade molasses. These additives reduce the salt’s freezing point to -14.8 Degrees F, Remains active for instant melting at lower temperatures, stays wet and in place when spread, has a corrosion rating of 23.1 on the Clear Roads corrosion scale , and ultimately it is easy to handle, store and use.
